Preschool and Early Childhood

The Silvis School District offers two preschool programs:

  1. Special Education Preschool (ECE) classes for children with identified disabilities that require specialized instruction, small classroom settings, and intensive services.

  2. The Preschool for All Program, for children ages 3-5.

The Preschool for All Program is a grant funded preschool program that serves 60 students, ages 3-5, who are identified, through a preschool screening, as being students that could benefit from this program.  The program provides a half-day, 5 days per week preschool program, with class sizes of no more than 20 students per class.   An experienced, certified preschool teacher and an experienced, certified teaching assistant provide instruction in the classroom.  Once the program is full, children are placed on a waiting list.

Screenings for the Preschool Program are held in March, May, and July in Silvis School District. Throughout the rest of the school year, screenings take place throughout the community. Please contact Ms. Mariah Quin at 309-792-0639 for more information regarding preschool screening or our programs.
