English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
In the Silvis School District, it is our goal to provide comprehensive instruction and support for English Learner (EL) students. At all levels, EL teachers and staff work with classroom teachers to coordinate English language activities. Differentiated instruction is used in the classroom to ensure that EL students learn grade level content. Identification and placement of EL students is accomplished with a Home Language Survey. The district has an ESL Director, Kelsey Erickson, who works with the school district EL teachers to provide services to the ELL students. If you have questions about the district EL program, please contact Kelsey Erickson at kelsey.erickson@silvis34.com.
